Charlotte FC extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-3 draw against FC Cincinnati on Saturday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati.

FC Cincinnati quickly found the back of the net, scoring in the second minute with a first-touch strike from Pavel Bucha.

The Crown weren’t down for long, with Liel Abada responding in the seventh minute with an equalizer.

Allan Saint-Maximin lofted a ball over the Cincinnati backline to Abada, which bounced off Andrei Chirila’s foot and left Abada alone in front of goal. The Israeli forward chipped it past Roman Celentano and knotted the score, his sixth goal in all competitions since returning from the World Cup break.

Pep Biel continued Charlotte FC’s offensive assault, being taken down in the box and winning a penalty.

Biel composed himself at the spot and swung his left leg through the ball, putting his shot in the right corner past Celentano. The goal made the Spaniard the Charlotte FC all-time goal contributions leader (24G+25A), passing Karol Świderski. Biel also tied Świderski for the most goals in an 91fdy��Ӱ season in club history (12).

The Crown went into the break with a 2-1 lead after FC Cincinnati bided for an equalizer in the first half, but eight shots were either blocked or missed the net altogether.

Kévin Denkey equalized for Cincinnati in the 51st minute with a deflection off a shot from Chirila, not allowing Kahlina to adjust to the ricochet. The Croatian keeper stepped up for The Crown, making two big saves in the 54th and 55th minutes to keep the game on level terms. He finished with six saves – five in the second half – his sixth time recording six or more saves in a game this season.

Kahlina’s third save started a Charlotte FC counterattack that finished with them taking back the lead via Idan Toklomati’s fourth goal in six matches.

Maxi started the sequence by lofting a cross to the right side of the box to Rodolfo Aloko. The Beninese forward saved the ball from going out and made a pass that allowed Toklomati to run onto the ball and head in Charlotte’s third goal of the game. Aloko’s assist was his second as a part of the club while Maxi finished the game with two assists, giving him six assists in the last four games.

Denkey once again equalized for FC Cincinnati in the 90+1’ mark, tying the game at three and securing the draw in the Queen City Derby.

Charlotte FC play the finale of their three-game road trip in the nation’s capital against DC United on Saturday, September 19 at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
