Parking Information

The following regulations have been designed for the general safety of the campus community. These regulations apply to all students, faculty, and staff members of 91fdyµçÓ°. All rules and regulations will be enforced.

General Information

Pedestrians at intersections and designated crosswalks have the right-of-way at all times. The maximum speed limit on roadways and in all parking areas is 15 MPH (miles per hour). Follow the instructions on all traffic signs. Please drive with extreme caution for your safety and the safety of others.

Parking on Campus

Below are the regular semester parking regulations that all faculty, staff, and students should follow. Exceptions will be communicated as needed.

Note: Your vehicle must always display the appropriate hangtag or you can be subject to parking fines.

South Campus

Lot A (Mustang Stadium Lot): Faculty/Staff, Resident Student, Commuter Student, and Visitor Parking

Lot B (Caves Parking Lot): Faculty/Staff and Commuter Student Parking

Lot C (SOBL Parking Lot): Authorized Faculty and Admissions Visitors Parking

  • NO PARKING in the admissions visitor spots.
    Parking for properly tagged Commuter Students, Faculty, and Staff vehicles is permitted Monday – Friday, 5:00 p.m. – midnight, and all-day Saturday – Sunday. Vehicles must be moved by midnight on Sunday.

Lot D (Rockland Parking Lot): Resident Student Parking

Lot E (Residence Hall Parking Lots): Resident Student Parking

Lot F (Rear of Rockland Parking Lot): Authorized Employees Only

Lot G (Wooded Way Parking Lots): Authorized Wooded Way Resident Students and Authorized Faculty/Staff Only


North Campus

Resident Students

Resident Students are not permitted to park at North Campus except during open parking hours (see below) or unless otherwise directed for special events.

Resident students are encouraged to use the Dell Family Pathway to walk between North and South Campus, or the SU Shuttles that regularly run from the Ratcliffe Community Center and Mustang Stadium stops to North Campus.

Commuter Students

Commuter Students are permitted to park at North Campus. If the Manning Academic Center (MAC) Parking Lot (Lot H) is full, Commuter Students should park at South Campus in Lot A (Mustang Stadium) or Lot B (Caves Lot).

Faculty/Staff

Faculty/Staff assigned to North Campus are permitted to park at North Campus. Faculty/Staff parking is permitted in the designated parking spots in front of the MAC and in the MAC Parking Lot (Lot H).

Visitor Parking

Visitors are permitted to park in the designated parking spots in front of the Manning Academic Center (MAC).

Open Parking Hours at North Campus

Open parking in the MAC Parking Lot (Lot H) at North Campus is permitted for all Faculty, Staff, and Students after 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, after 2 p.m. on Fridays, and from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.


East Campus

East Campus is open dusk to dawn, and can be accessed from North Campus via Mustang Way and from the Garrison Forrest Road Entrance. No overnight parking or non-event parking is allowed on East Campus.

No parking is allowed along the main entrance roadway from Garrison Forrest or North Campus. Any cars parked along the roadway will be towed.

Only buses may park in the two designated Bus Parking spots along Victory Way.

Student parking for practices and games is allowed along Victory Way past the Bus Parking on the designated side of the road. Parking is also permitted in the following lots for practices when there are no game day operations:

Lot L (Baseball Area): Fan parking for game day operations. Student parking allowed during practice sessions with no game day operations.

Lot M (Small Lot and Grass Overflow Lot): Parking for visiting teams and overflow parking only. SU Student Athletes are encouraged to park along the road or in this lot during all game day operations.

Lot N (Lower Parking Area): Fan parking for game day operations. Student parking allowed during practice sessions with no game day operations.


Greenspring Campus

Resident Students, Commuter Students, and Faculty/Staff are permitted to park in any unrestricted general parking area on Greenspring Campus.

Please be aware that the Baltimore County Police Department and Fire Department occasionally cone off areas of unrestricted parking at Greenspring to conduct Police and Fire Cadet training exercises. In these cases, do not park in these areas while coned off.

Visitor Parking

South Campus

All visitors of Residential Students are required to park in Lot A (Mustang Stadium Lot).

Overnight guests must register with and obtain a Visitor Parking Pass from the Campus Safety Office in the Ratcliffe Community Center and park their vehicles in Lot A.

North Campus

Visitors are encouraged to park in the designated Visitor Parking spaces located in front of the School of Design, Arts, and Communication building and in the front of the Manning Academic Center (MAC).

East Campus

Visitors and fans are required to park in the following areas during game day operations. No student parking is allowed in these areas during game day operations.

Lot L (Baseball Area) – Fan parking for game day operations.

Lot M (Small Lot and Grass Overflow Lot): Parking for visiting teams and overflow parking only. SU Student Athletes are encouraged to park along the road or in this lot during all game day operations.

Lot N (Lower Parking Area): Fan parking for game day operations.

Greenspring Campus

Visitor parking is located in the front circle of the University. These reserved spaces are not to be used by Stevenson students or employees.

Registration of Personal Vehicles

All personal vehicles parked on any of Stevenson’s campuses must be registered before the first day of class. Registration hang tags must be visible on the dash or hanging from the rear-view mirror anytime a vehicle is on campus.

Vehicles may be registered and parking hang tags may be obtained at the following locations:

Resident Students and Commuter Students: The Campus Safety Office in the Ratcliffe Community Center on South Campus.

Faculty and Staff: The Human Resources Office in the Manuszak Center on the Greenspring Campus or the Campus Safety Office in the Ratcliffe Community Center on South Campus.

Your SU identification card and your vehicle’s registration card are required to register your vehicle. Download a parking registration form here.

Handicap & Special Needs Parking

Maryland law and 91fdyµçÓ° policy restrict the use of handicap parking spaces to individuals with special needs and whose vehicles display handicap license plates and/or hang tags.

Persons with special needs should register their vehicles with Campus Safety Office in the Ratcliffe Community Center on South Campus. Arrangements will be made to ensure an appropriate parking space is available for the individual while attending classes or working at 91fdyµçÓ°.

Temporary handicap permits are available to faculty, staff, and students for short and long-term convalescence. Contact the Campus Safety Office at 443-352-4500.

Fines & Appeals

Your vehicle must always display the appropriate hangtag or you can be subject to parking fines.

Fee schedule for campus parking violations:

  • General parking violations: $50 for each offense
  • Parking in handicapped spaces: $152 for each offense
  • Moving violations (including speed, failure to stop at stop signs, etc.): $75 for each offense
  • Failure to register a vehicle: $100

Fines must be paid at the Student Accounts Office located in Garrison Student Union (North Lobby, 2nd Floor) within 30 days from the date the ticket was issued.

If the fine is not paid, a financial hold will be assessed preventing further registration activity until payment is received.


Appeals

Members of the University wishing to appeal a citation should submit a copy of the citation and three (3) copies of a typewritten appeal to the Director of Campus Safety describing in detail why the fine is being appealed. The appeal must be filed within 30 days from the date of the parking violation notice.

The Citation Appeals Board convenes once per month to consider written appeals. Decisions will be by majority vote of the Board, and a written memo will be sent to the appellant stating the Board’s decision. Decisions of the Citation Appeals Board are final.
