CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Thursday, September 3, 2026) 鈥 Crown Legacy FC today announced it has signed English midfielder Ty Barnett to a professional contract. Barnett joins the Club as a free agent after featuring with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers FC鈥檚 youth squads. He has spent time with the Club on trial this season.听

Barnett, 21,听has spent the last seven years with Wolves in their academy and youth squads, appearing听in 88 matches with the U-18 and U-23 teams, scoring 14听goals听and notching six assists in that span.听In August 2022, the midfielder earned his first professional contract as a 17-year-old.听The midfielder represented Wolves at the Premier League Next Generation Cup in India in May 2023.听On December 24, 2023, Barnett was included in Wolves鈥 senior matchday squad in a Premier League matchup with Chelsea听FC.听
Barnett,听who was born in Charlotte before moving to England,听joined Wolves听in 2019听at the age of 13听from Birmingham听City FC. During his time with Wolves鈥櫶齛cademy,听he听featured with听the U-15 squad which won the Premier League Indoor Tournament, also against Chelsea FC.听The midfielder has two appearances with England鈥檚 U-15 squad, making his debut on December 15,听2020,听scoring听in a friendly against听Turkey.听He is the son of听centerback听Dave Barnett, who听enjoyed an 18-year career in England听with clubs such as Birmingham City FC and West Brom Albion.听
